ABOUT US
Fig Tree Day Nursery was founded in 2011 and has always focused on supporting children, nurturing their emotional and intellectual growth.
We are child-led in approach and work with parents and families to best meet each child’s individual needs. We take inspiration from a number of learning styles including Reggio, Hygge, Montessori and Charlotte Mason; we incorporate these into our nursery decor and approach to early years learning.

Nurturing Creativity
Child-led Approach
At Fig Tree Day Nursery we have a child-led approach to learning and play.
We are very focused on the individual needs of every child and their key workers will follow their interests to engage their learning in a way they find fun.
We have a lot of open-ended natural & sustainable resources so children are able to be creative and free to use their imagination.
Extended Hours
We understand that lot of families have different needs when it comes to opening hours.
We are open Monday to Friday and we are able to offer extended hours on request.
Core Hours 7:30am - 6:00pm
Extended Hours 6:30am - 7:00pm.
Outdoor Play
We spend time outside every day, no matter the weather. We go for woodland walks, the local playground or spend time in our gardens.
We grow lovely fruits and vegetables. We encourage the children to help us plan and care for what we grow and we use what we grow to create nutritious meals for the children.
Fig tree follows the Startwell programme, and promote healthy eating and regular excerise.
SEND Provision
Our setting has a trained setting-based SENCO (special educational needs and disability coordinator) who coordinates and monitors the provision made for children with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities).
All of our staff have regular CPD, supervision and speak regularly with the nursery SENCO.
Funding and Discounts
At Fig Tree we have a number of spaces available to children who are eligible for government funding. Please look at our funding page or contact us for details.
We offer a fantastic 5% discount to NHS workers, Military, Police and Students.
Some discounts are available for siblings.

BABIES
Our baby room is for children at around 6 weeks to 18 months.
TWEENIES
Our tweenies room is for children at around 18 months to 3 years.
PRE-SCHOOL
Our pre-schooler room is for children at around 3-4 years.

As soon as we walked into Fig Tree Day Nursery, my husband and I knew it was right for our son. We were all made welcome straight away. He has grown in confidence in the last 2 years and continues to do so as he moves to pre-school.
More recently, the nursery remained open for key worker chidren. They enabled myself and husband to go to work and keep our son in his routine. They kept going with a smile through all the uncertainty and provided activities, fun and stimulation for a reduced number of children.
The opening hours are brilliant for busy working families like ours, it isn’t great dropping him off at 6.30am to go to work but he doesn’t bat an eyelid because he is ALWAYS welcomed with a smile.
No query is too big or small. Our boy will continue to thrive during his last year, we will be sad when he leaves.

Highly recommend fig tree, my daughter started pre school needing speech language and other areas I had concerned however since being at fig tree she’s like a new child speaking fluently and her behaviour is so much better. She’s able to do things I never thought she would. Will send my youngest when he’s ready to go pre school. Extended Opening Hours
Monday to Friday: 6:30am to 7:00pm.
